Training Resouce – Introducing Effective Delegation #2

Previously, I introduced the session on Introducing Effective Delegation (read that post here). In that post, we saw the learning objectives for the whole session. This post will focus on the part of the session that explores what delegation is.

WHAT IS DELEGATION?

Display the slide titled – WHAT IS DELEGATION?

Read out the instructions on the slide for them to write their definitions of delegation in the chat window and give them 3-minutes to do it.

As they type out their definitions in the chat window, read through them quietly so you don’t distract the participants. When the time is up, stop and thank them for doing the activity. Then let them know you are going to read out their definitions.

Read out their definitions and acknowledge each person. After that, let them know you also have a definition to share with them. Display the slide titled – WHAT IS DELEGATION?

The content will display automatically on the slide. Let them read it for about 90-seconds. If any of their definitions are similar or the same as the one displayed onscreen, say so after they’ve read it. Also, ask if they have any comments about what they just read and listen to them.

After that move on to discuss the benefits of delegation.

In the next post, we will explore the part of the training session that focuses on the benefits of delegation.
